Food that kills 20,000 people every year!
There is also a popular dish in the
world which kills around 20,000
people every year.
A popular traditional dish eaten in Thailand
and Laos is called 'Koi Pla', which is
said to be responsible for nearly
20,000 deaths. The dish called 'Koi
Pla' includes herbs, raw fish, lemon
juice and spices.
The main problem with this dish
used as a salad is the raw fish, fresh
water fish that the locals add to the
salad without cooking it.
It is noteworthy that in this fish
there are many insects and bacteria
living in the water which are called
'live flukes' and cause cancer in
humans.
These worms are responsible
for the deadliest of all cancers
called cholangiocarcinoma. Bile
duct cancer causes the death of
about 20,000 people in Thailand
alone.
Liver surgeon at Khon Kaen
University, Thailand, Narong
Khintikeo told international media
that this food causes health
problems among people here.
He said that eating it causes health
problems but no one thinks about it
because people die silently.
